Kylian Mbappé Real Madrid fans had plenty to cheer about as the French superstar scored twice in Real Madrid’s emphatic 4-0 win over WSG Tirol in their only official preseason friendly ahead of the 2025–26 LaLiga campaign. The match took place on Tuesday night at Tivoli Stadion Tirol in Innsbruck, Austria, and showcased both Madrid’s attacking firepower and their new signings under coach Xabi Alonso.
A Flying Start for Los Blancos
Real Madrid wasted no time asserting their dominance. In the 10th minute, Éder Militão opened the scoring with a powerful header from a corner. Just three minutes later, Mbappé doubled the lead after receiving a perfectly timed pass from Arda Güler.
Madrid maintained control throughout the first half, with Güler impressing fans by hitting the woodwork twice and creating multiple chances.
Mbappé’s Brace & Rodrygo’s Finishing Touch
The second half started just as strongly. In the 59th minute, Aurélien Tchouaméni played a brilliant through ball to Mbappé, who coolly slotted it past the goalkeeper for his second goal of the match.
Mbappé nearly grabbed a hat trick in the 71st minute, but was denied by WSG Tirol’s keeper. Instead, he turned provider in the 82nd minute, setting up Rodrygo for Madrid’s fourth goal after a slick one-two pass.
New Signings Impress
Xabi Alonso’s starting XI included three summer signings — Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, and Álvaro Carreras — all of whom showed promise. Güler, despite not scoring, was one of the standout performers, proving he could be a key creative force this season.
A Short but Intense Preseason
Madrid’s preseason was cut short due to their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States earlier this summer. This fixture against WSG Tirol was their only official friendly before their LaLiga opener against Osasuna on August 19, 2025.
